Job Description

Getinge is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead project tooling activities for injection mold tool builds and program delivery from concept through production. In this hybrid role based in Merrimack, NH, you will work with cross-functional teams to manage tooling lifecycle needs, support Getinge-owned mold assets and molding suppliers, and provide technical guidance when issues arise.

Role Overview

As the Sr. Engineer, Project Tooling, you will manage injection mold tool build programs and oversee project management activities across the tooling timeline. The position also includes support for Atrium owed injection mold tooling through repairs, refurbishment, and replacements, along with troubleshooting molding and tooling issues in coordination with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Track and oversee repair, refurbishment, and replacement of Atrium owed injection mold tooling.
  • Evaluate mold designs to confirm the most cost-effective solutions meet production goals, durability, specifications, and cost.
  • Analyze technical data, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and the availability of parts and equipment.
  • Lead tooling transfers and new tool builds/validations.
  • Manage and maintain a tooling database.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations based on mold software analysis.
  • Provide engineering support for new design development, improvements, and modifications to existing products and manufacturing methods, including selection of raw materials.
  • Assist with development and tracking of tooling capital budgets.
  • Provide technical and project leadership for complex mold design and develop and build programs.
  • Prepare project plans covering proposed work costs and timetables.
  • Manage unexpected program delays and direct cross-functional efforts to re-align with established project timelines.
  • Mitigate risks to Atrium’s Supply Chain by monitoring supplier developments, changes, and technology shifts that may impact supply continuity.
  • Prepare reports and document progress with senior management.
  • Assist in special projects as needed and complete related duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of ten years direct experience or demonstrated commensurate experience in the field.
  • Practical knowledge of mold making and the injection molding process.
  • Scientific Injection Molding concepts and use.
  • Mold building knowledge including machining tolerances, steels, heat treating, plating, and stack-up tolerances.
  • General knowledge of applicable FDA and ISO guidelines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Experience with process and/or product validation is desired.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Excel/Word) and Microsoft Project.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software.
  • Accurate ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communication skills (oral and written) to communicate effectively.
  • Problem solving ability to proactively address work-related issues.
  • Interpersonal ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with internal and external customers.

Work Location, Travel, and Work Conditions

  • Travel: 25–30%

  • May work extended hours during peak business cycles.

Compensation

  • Salary range: USD 100,000 - 130,000 per year (based on experience)
  • Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
