Stationary Engineer

This Stationary Engineer role at St. Clair Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA (onsite) is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining boilers, chillers, and related HVAC and auxiliary equipment to support safe delivery of required services and utilities.

Role Summary

The position involves routine oversight and maintenance activities performed according to detailed specifications and established schedules. Duties include firing boilers and managing the continuous generation of steam to ensure required utilities remain available and operate properly.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, inspect, and maintain boilers, chillers, and other heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and auxiliary equipment to support safe and correct delivery of required services and utilities.
• Fire boilers and control steam generation to provide a continuous supply based on detailed specifications and schedules.

Required Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Advanced training and/or experience in physical plant operations.
• Experience operating HVAC equipment.
• Knowledge of personal computer operation.
• Stationary Engineer license or Power Engineer License (minimum Class 4).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous hospital plant operations experience.
• Experience with an automated energy management system.

Work Location and Department

Onsite at St. Clair Hospital, PLANT OPERATIONS.

Schedule

Full Time, Evenings/Nights.
