Structural Engineer

Monta Consulting & Design is hiring a Structural Engineer for a hybrid role based in Lake Mary, FL (Lake Mary, FL 32746). This full-time position supports building projects across single & multi-family residential, commercial, and light industrial, with an emphasis on internal infrastructure. You’ll have opportunities to take ownership of structural deliverables, coordinate with project partners, and contribute to client-ready documentation.

What you’ll do

• Design and/or review structural components for single family and multi-family residential projects while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations
• Review blueprints, plans, and change orders to verify structural integrity of materials and designs, including performing complex calculations
• Coordinate with outside professionals (including designers, architects, and truss companies) as plan changes are needed
• Participate in initial planning and bidding activities by reviewing environmental factors, government regulations, and risk analysis reports to prepare studies that cover relevant design considerations
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budgeted time allotment
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Staff Engineers or Engineering Interns
• Draft letters and/or reports for clients as required
• Sign and seal of plans after 6 months of work and familiarization with company standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• At least 7 years of related experience
• Professional Engineers licensed in the state of Florida required
• EI or PE license in the state of Florida (Required)
• Excellent attention to detail and listening skills

• Advanced organizational skills and strong time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines
