Integrated Steel, Inc is looking for a Structural Engineer to lead the engineering of commercial cold-formed steel projects, translating designs into FrameCAD models and ensuring code compliance. This onsite role in Grand Forks, ND carries a salary range of USD 100,000 to 250,000 per year and centers on safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Leads the evaluation and sign-off of structural designs, confirming alignment with safety requirements, codes, and industry best practices.
- Tracks project progress, schedules milestones, and ensures engineering efforts meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Works with architects, contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated project execution.
- Reviews and approves plans, calculations, and design documents for accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Identifies risks in structural design and construction and develops mitigation strategies as needed.
- Fosters a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the engineering team and the broader organization.
- Assesses light-gauge cold-formed manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; engaging with equipment vendors and gathering operator feedback.
- Collaborates with the production team to refine manufacturing and design processes by analyzing product requirements, researching and testing methods and equipment, and coordinating with contractors.
- Completes design and development efforts by mentoring and guiding technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and participation in professional societies.
- Contributes to team efforts by achieving related outcomes as required.
Requirements
- Licensed Professional Structural Engineer is required.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities are required.
- Experience with cold-formed steel framing design is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software is required.
- Experience designing reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, and precast concrete is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills are required.
