System Engineer

System Engineer position onsite in Troy, MI with ALTEN Technology USA.

Responsibilities

• Design vehicle topology and electrical systems modules.
• Specify gateway requirements and system interfaces.
• Apply systems engineering to electronics, hardware, software, integration, and test activities.
• Assess customer requirements and translate them into system requirements.
• Prepare system and subsystem specifications from OEM and detail software requirements in Codebeamer to support testing activities (MISRA, unit tests, integration tests) and software development.
• Lead or participate in issue resolution during development, vehicle rollout, and warranty periods.
• Oversee OEM projects and software releases in alignment with the SDLC.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Europe, Asia, and North America.
• Define CAN and LIN messaging for multiple ECUs.
• Create a vehicle message matrix.
• Record issues found in the customer issue management system and software.
• Support efforts to integrate modules into vehicle electrical systems to understand overall behavior.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 6 months of relevant experience.
• 40 hours per week.
• Annual compensation listed as 77,792 USD.
