Systems Security Engineer I - 304214

Delaware Nation Industries supports the AFRL base cybersecurity team with mission-focused engineering work across vulnerability management, threat defense, and cybersecurity governance. This Systems Security Engineer II role is based in Rome, NY (onsite) and offers a $65,000 to $75,000 yearly salary, with benefits coverage designed to reduce everyday cost burdens.

Responsibilities

• Support vulnerability management, including vulnerability scanning, identification, tracking, mitigation, and remediation.
• Support threat defense, including intrusion detection and protection and SIEM log and event correlation.
• Assist with cybersecurity governance and compliance by implementing policies, maintaining documentation, and supporting audit activities.
• Document work and maintain accurate records using ticketing systems, IT asset management tools, Microsoft Office applications, and other required software.
• Communicate security-related findings, actions taken, and status updates to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Manage multiple priorities, work independently, and support program needs across the assigned environment.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance
• Security+ or an equivalent DoD 8140-aligned certification
• Five (5) or more years of experience in computer support, IT customer service, cybersecurity, or a related field, including direct cybersecurity functions experience
• Working knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and common cybersecurity practices
• Experience or familiarity with vulnerability management, threat defense, SIEM log and event correlation, and governance, compliance, or auditing
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, listening skills, and written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and operate effectively with limited supervision
• Experience or familiarity with government IT asset management systems is preferred
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred
