Temporary AI Engineer

Temporary contract opportunity at Florida International University in Miami, FL (onsite) supporting research and real-world deployments of advanced artificial intelligence. This role focuses on Agentic AI, LLMs, and Generative AI, with hands-on work across model development, application integration, and performance evaluation. Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate AI agents for reasoning, planning, tool use, decision-making, and autonomous task execution.
• Design and implement LLM-based applications, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), conversational AI, document intelligence, and knowledge-based systems.
• Develop and train machine learning and deep learning models for classification, prediction, anomaly detection, computer vision, and data analytics.
• Implement Generative AI solutions for text, images, synthetic data generation, and multimodal applications.
• Integrate AI models with databases, APIs, software platforms, simulations, and other computational systems.
• Conduct experiments, evaluate AI model performance, and contribute to technical reports, research publications, and project deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience or a master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong programming experience in Python.
• Fundamental knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
• Experience or coursework in LLMs, Generative AI, or AI/ML model development.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Basic understanding of LLM frameworks, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or AI agent architectures.

Working schedule and pay

• Salary: $30.00 per hour
• Advertised salary: USD 30 - 30 per hourly
