Transportation Engineer 1

This entry-level transportation engineering role is based onsite in Nashville, Tennessee, supporting the development of large-scale transportation projects under direct supervision to meet client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, contribute to the design of large-scale projects such as highways, tunnels, mass transit, and aviation facilities to meet client requirements.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Ensure adherence to firm policies and practices on all designs.
• Perform site reviews and studies as needed to align designs with location specifications.
• Update design requirements as necessary to reflect project needs.
• Inspect new construction and existing transportation structures as required.
• Contribute to the firm's Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation for new or special-case designs and studies.
• Submit technical papers and designs for publication in technical journals.
• Perform other duties as required.
• May collaborate with a team to create posters or presentation materials for a conference.

Requirements

• Fundamental knowledge of computer aided design and drafting (CADD) software for 3D and 4D projects and related practices.
• Fundamental understanding of engineering design principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0 years of professional experience required.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency depends on duties and project workload.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Amount of travel required: 10% or less.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 63,835 - 105,310 per year.
