Job Description

A mid-level Wastewater Project Engineer will contribute to wastewater treatment process design and construction projects from Hazen and Sawyer's Manchester, NH office on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of technical treatment strategies
  • Evaluate and select suitable wastewater treatment processes
  • Define process design criteria and performance targets
  • Lead project delivery across planning, design, and construction phases
  • Coordinate with clients to align project scope, milestones, and expectations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet client needs
  • Liaise with internal technical specialists and discipline designers to ensure cohesive project execution
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and client presentations
  • Participate in fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction, with occasional travel as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or mechanical engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in wastewater-related infrastructure, including project engineering and management (planning, design, and construction)
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Track record delivering long-term projects within collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to present complex issues to nontechnical audiences
