Wastewater Project Engineer (Mid-Level)
Job Description
A mid-level Wastewater Project Engineer will contribute to wastewater treatment process design and construction projects from Hazen and Sawyer's Manchester, NH office on a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of technical treatment strategies
- Evaluate and select suitable wastewater treatment processes
- Define process design criteria and performance targets
- Lead project delivery across planning, design, and construction phases
- Coordinate with clients to align project scope, milestones, and expectations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to meet client needs
- Liaise with internal technical specialists and discipline designers to ensure cohesive project execution
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and client presentations
- Participate in fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction, with occasional travel as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or mechanical engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5 to 10 years of experience in wastewater-related infrastructure, including project engineering and management (planning, design, and construction)
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Track record delivering long-term projects within collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to present complex issues to nontechnical audiences
