This Developmental Engineer position within the U.S. Air Force requires military service as a commissioned officer. The work emphasizes advanced engineering specialties and includes oversight of projects from planning through implementation to support mission-critical technology reliability.
Responsibilities
- Continuously analyze technical policies, procedures, products, and services to improve customer support
- Conduct design studies and manage studies contracted to external industries
- Coordinate engineering and technical management activities across the project lifecycle
- Plan, organize, and implement systems engineering processes
- Identify and incorporate new technologies and subsystems to improve capability and reliability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty related to one of: aerospace, aeronautical, astronautical, computer, electrical, electronics, communication, or mechanical
- Completion of the Defence Acquisition University
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Systems Acquisition Management course or Acquisition Fundamentals course
- Completion of the Air Force Flight Test Engineer course or a comparable program
- Minimum 24 months of experience in a qualified position, or a master’s degree in a specified discipline plus 12 months of experience, or a Doctor of Philosophy degree in a specified discipline
- Completion of Officer Training School (OTS), Air Force Academy (AFA), or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC)
- Must be between ages 18 and 39
- Minimum experience: 2 years
