Job Description

The Lighting Design Engineer (Power Distribution) role at HKA Enterprises involves designing outdoor lighting solutions for residential, commercial, and subdivision projects, conducting site visits to assess needs, and coordinating with clients, crews, and partner agencies while balancing fieldwork with office design tasks.

Responsibilities

Consult with the public to determine lighting requirements in line with company standards and requirements.
Perform on-site surveys to assess lighting needs for residential, commercial, and subdivision projects.
Identify and verify existing utility infrastructure as part of planning.
Develop and design outdoor lighting schemes that meet customer requirements while adhering to standard guidelines.
Communicate effectively with clients, field crews, and partner agencies.
Balance fieldwork with office design tasks on a variable schedule.
Manage scheduling to maintain steady progress across tasks.
Walk substantial distances and transport equipment; stake poles and flag routes on site as needed.
Display strong problem-solving skills to address customer complaints and implement resolutions.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Pole foreman experience: 1 year (Required)
Power Distribution experience: 1 year (Required)
BOUD experience: 1 year (Required)
