The Senior Mechanical Engineer will contribute to development work, conceptual design, and owner’s engineer services for electric power projects. This hybrid position is based in Englewood, Colorado, and involves travel opportunities. A BSME and at least 10 years of experience in the electric power sector are required.
Role Overview
The incumbent focuses on development support, conceptual design, and owner’s engineer tasks for electric power facilities. Responsibilities include performing technical evaluations of generation projects and supporting related economic, risk, and contracting activities.
Location and Work Arrangement
This role follows a hybrid work model located in Englewood, CO, with in-person duties three days per week. Travel within the United States and internationally is possible.
Responsibilities
- Provide development support, conceptual design, and owner’s engineer services to clients, including technical evaluations of electric power generation projects and facilities.
- Support project economics, cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development.
- Conduct engineering design reviews, technical due diligence, project development support, and conceptual design activities.
- Demonstrate particular experience in the mechanical design of conventional power projects when applicable.
- Travel domestically and abroad to support project needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a strong academic record.
- 10 or more years of experience in the electric power industry, including detailed mechanical design of conventional power plant systems.
- Experience with simple cycle gas turbines, combined cycle projects, coal-fired generation, steam systems, and reciprocating engines (RICE).
- Experience in development support and conceptual design of conventional power projects.
- Excellent technical communication and writing abilities.
- U.S. work authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
