Job Description

Chevron is expanding its AI and data capabilities and is hiring an AI Engineer in Houston, TX on an onsite basis. The role focuses on modernizing data foundations and delivering AI and ML accelerators that can be used across the company, with a strong emphasis on building production-ready AI solutions on Azure.

Working in collaboration with AI and ML engineers and cross-functional stakeholders, you will design and develop AI, including agentic systems, while applying established software engineering practices for quality, maintainability, and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AI and Machine Learning solutions.
  • Design and develop agentic solutions using Microsoft Foundry and Azure Cognitive Services.
  • Develop software solutions using Python and/or TypeScript and/or C#.
  • Design and implement AI plugins, skills, and MCP servers.
  • Orchestrate large-scale data processing and distributed model training workloads.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify AI opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and work with product managers to define requirements.
  • Apply software engineering best practices, including testing, source control, architecture reviews, and CI/CD.

Requirements

  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying software solutions (Python preferred).
  • Experience building AI-enabled applications using machine learning and/or generative AI technologies.
  • Experience with agentic AI frameworks, AI orchestration platforms, or related AI development patterns.
  • Experience developing cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services.
  • Demonstrated software engineering practices including source control, testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies, frameworks, and approaches in a fast-evolving AI environment.
