Airport Senior Program Administrator – Principal Cybersecurity Engineer
Job Description
Take a pivotal leadership role with the Clark County Department of Aviation, onsite in Las Vegas, NV. The Senior Program Administrator – Principal Cybersecurity Engineer will supervise cybersecurity professionals and oversee governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives that shape the department’s cybersecurity posture. This position offers a competitive salary range of USD 92,747 to 136,968 per year and opportunities to influence strategy, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and strengthen information security across aviation programs.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, manages, reviews and evaluates the work of professional, technical and/or support staff through subordinate supervisor(s) and/or lead staff.
- Evaluates employee performance and effectively recommends selection, administers corrective actions, and supports continued development of team members, including departmental policies and procedures; administers discipline as required.
- Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for assigned program(s); prepares and administers the program's budget.
- Directs the development and modification of techniques and formats to evaluate program effectiveness and determine the need for modification or new program development.
- Leads research and development of program alternatives; ensures alignment with departmental mission; identifies funding sources and resources; designs and implements procedures and manuals.
- Contributes to overall service quality by coordinating work teams and reviewing, recommending and implementing improved policies and procedures.
- Monitors programs to ensure compliance with the departmental mission, funding regulations and other guidelines.
- Acts as the department and county representative with other departments, community organizations and service providers; answers questions, resolves problems and provides information and technical assistance as required.
- Assists the Managing Director or Manager with special projects and administrative assignments; supports development of the departmental strategic plan and annual report.
- Delivers presentations to community groups and promotes programs by building external contacts and coordinating communications with organizations and the media.
- Monitors legislative changes and FAA regulations that affect program operations; evaluates impact and recommends policy or procedure updates.
- Exercise sound judgment and interpret policies and procedures to identify practical solutions to challenges.
- Maintains or directs the maintenance of accurate records and files.
- Prepares correspondence, reports, policies, procedures and other program documentation; may support a policy board or committee.
- Uses standard office equipment and computers; may drive to attend meetings or visit work sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Finance or a related field.
- Four (4) years of full-time professional level experience, with two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role.
- An advanced degree in the appropriate field is preferred.
- Substitution: Professional level experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis to meet the requirements.
- Possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver’s license may be required at time of hire.
- Residency: Permanent employees must maintain residency within Clark County and provide proof of Nevada motor vehicle registration and driver's license compliance within 90 days of employment.
- Citizenship: Legally authorized to work in the United States. No H1B sponsorships or transfers are provided by Clark County.
- Background checks: Employment contingent upon education/experience verification, FBI fingerprint-based criminal history review, and the ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security badge; two original government-issued IDs required at acceptance.
- Security Seal Program: Employment is contingent upon a ten-year employment and five-year residency history check and the ability to present original identity documents to meet Security Seal requirements.
- Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment contingent upon successful pre-employment drug screening.
- Working Conditions: Some meetings may be scheduled outside standard working hours.
