Job Description
Purple Carrot is hiring an Analytics Engineer to design and support resilient, scalable data pipelines and company-wide data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and infrastructure from ingestion through transformation and analytics.
- Develop, test, and optimize data models and data warehouse architecture for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Support data quality using validation, monitoring, testing, and strong documentation practices.
- Apply and maintain data governance, including data dictionaries, lineage, access controls, and clear ownership of business logic.
- Build and maintain BI dashboards and reporting tools that enable teams to understand performance and make data-informed decisions.
- Provide occasional ad hoc and exploratory analysis to answer business questions and identify trends.
- Create and maintain documentation covering data models, pipelines, reporting logic, and key data definitions.
- Collaborate with the Senior Analytics Engineer and cross-functional partners to deliver workstreams within an established data framework.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of experience in the data space in a senior data analyst, data analyst, analytics engineer, data engineer, or equivalent role.
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, computer science, information systems, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to commute to the Dedham, MA office 3 days per week.
- Proficiency in SQL and dbt for transformation, automation, and modeling.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using modern data stack technologies such as Git, dbt, Stitch, cloud data warehouses, or similar tools.
- Strong background in data quality assurance, governance frameworks, and best practices for documentation.
- Experience with BI and reporting tools such as Looker, Omni, or similar platforms.
- Ability to work independently on assigned workstreams while collaborating closely with a senior team member.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Location
- Hybrid role based in Dedham, MA or Chicago, IL
- Hybrid approach includes 3 days in-office each week
- Many team members choose to come in more often
Compensation: USD 90,000 - 100,000 per year
Minimum experience: 2 years
