Application Security Engineer

Booz Allen Hamilton is hiring an Application Security Engineer in Huntsville, AL (onsite) to help strengthen national security through enterprise cloud and application and network security capabilities. You will work on Zero Trust application and network security services and the security controls and technologies that support DoD environments.

In this full-time role, you’ll collaborate with teams delivering application security approaches across defense infrastructure, including work that involves DMZ and application security capabilities. Compensation is projected at $99,000 to $225,000 (annualized USD), based on factors such as location, education, skills, experience, and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implement Zero Trust compliant application and network security services, controls, and related technologies
• Apply enterprise firewall and security solutions to support application and network security needs
• Use cryptography knowledge to support security protocols and standards in application and network environments
• Support security capabilities across DoD enterprise networks, including environments such as DMZ and application security

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience implementing Zero Trust compliant application and network security services and controls
• 2+ years of experience with next-generation firewalls, including Palo Alto, Versa, Cisco, Fortinet, or Juniper
• Knowledge of cryptography protocols and standards, including TLS, mTLS, hashing algorithms, or Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Knowledge of application delivery products such as F5, Nginx, A10, or NetScaler
• Ability to work within DoD enterprise networks, including defense infrastructure with DMZ and application security
• Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED

Work model: This position is listed as onsite, and work will primarily be performed full-time at a customer facility, where employees will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
