Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer

FIS Global is seeking an experienced Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer to design and deliver generative AI and agent-based solutions. The role focuses on building large language model powered applications, integrating automated workflows with enterprise systems, and improving model performance for accuracy, reliability, and safety.

Role Overview

In this onsite role in Jacksonville, FL, you will design and build generative artificial intelligence applications using open and proprietary large language models. You will also develop agent-based systems that coordinate planning, memory, tools, and orchestration to complete complex tasks, including multi-agent workflows with human-in-the-loop and autonomous execution. A key part of the position is evaluating and improving model and system performance, with attention to grounding, reliability, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Design and build generative artificial intelligence applications using open and proprietary large language models.
• Develop agent-based systems that use planning, memory, tools, and orchestration to complete complex tasks.
• Create multi-agent workflows, including human-in-the-loop and autonomous workflows.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise platforms, application programming interfaces, and business workflows.
• Evaluate and improve model and system performance, including accuracy, grounding, reliability, and safety.

Required Qualifications

• At least four years working with artificial intelligence, generative artificial intelligence, or agent-based systems.
• Hands-on experience with large language models, including prompting techniques, structured outputs, model routing, context management, and memory management.
• Strong Python skills and experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or Pandas.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, hybrid retrieval patterns, and evaluation of generative AI systems.
• Experience building and deploying RESTful services with Flask or FastAPI, and working with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large language model fine-tuning or parameter-efficient tuning methods such as LoRA or QLoRA.
• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks and tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, OpenAI Assistants API, or Model Context Protocol.
• Experience with production machine learning operations, monitoring, observability, security, compliance, or data governance for generative AI systems.
