Assistant County Engineer
Job Description
Assistant County Engineer position in Dodge County, Minnesota, focused on county highway engineering, based in Dodge Center, MN (onsite), with a salary range of USD 89,003 - 124,509 per year.
Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise engineering staff performing survey, inspections, design, and construction of highway projects to ensure adherence to engineering standards and project procedures, including on sight inspections, report reviews, and coordination with subordinates.
- Assess construction and design progress of highway and bridge projects to support planning, by daily meetings and discussions with the County Highway Engineer.
- Regularly review construction and design progress and evaluate five year program needs to monitor departmental cost and time projections, applying civil engineering expertise.
Requirements
- Modern civil engineering methods and techniques as applied to design, construction, and maintenance of highways and related fields.
- Analytic geometry and calculus as needed to solve and apply complex engineering problems.
- Land and engineering survey systems, methods, and techniques.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations relating to highway planning and construction, and geomorphological formations as they apply to construction and operations, before or during construction.
- Ability to assign and supervise technical engineering personnel.
