Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to the Marketing and Sales teams at Xcel Energy
- Perform day-to-day engineering work in designated technical areas
- Build analyses in technical-financial models that align with state regulatory and corporate guidelines
- Assume sole responsibility for selected technology end uses
- Develop rapid yet rigorous analytical models following sound engineering practice and guidance from peers
- Cross-train across multiple programs
- Apply and expand knowledge of regulatory and internal guidelines as directed by engineers and team leads
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge in gas or electric conservation programs (HVAC, lighting, compressed air, energy efficient building construction, motors, controls, industrial processing, boilers, furnaces, recommissioning)
- Meet established turnaround times for projects to encourage customer participation
- Identify new end uses that can be reviewed without ongoing senior oversight
- Leverage internal expertise by building relationships with external networks of engineering and architectural firms, government agencies, industry associations, and research firms
- Acquire and deepen knowledge through interaction with these external sources
Minimum Requirements
- ABET-accredited BSME, BSEE or related engineering degree
- 3 years of energy conservation experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: energy engineering consulting, HVAC, lighting, compressed air, energy efficient building construction, motors, controls, industrial processing, recommissioning, boilers, and furnaces
- EIT Certification preferred
