Audio Visual Design Engineer

DALY Computers, Inc. is seeking an Audio Visual Design Engineer to design customer-focused AV solutions in a hands-on, project-driven environment in Manassas, VA. The role partners closely with Sales and Integration to translate customer needs into system designs, drawings, and accurate BOMs that support successful delivery.

What you will do

• Collaborate with Sales to confirm customer requirements and expectations, ranging from straightforward to complex system designs.
• Create preliminary layouts, sketches, and basic data needed to present design proposals to customers.
• Design new AV systems and equipment configurations for spaces such as huddle spaces, training rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, boardrooms, and other customer areas.
• Develop Bid Specifications.
• Produce detailed schematic diagrams, perform cost analysis, and estimate job-related labor.
• Generate comprehensive project deliverables including project description and State of Work, along with List of Materials and Drawings.
• Provide additional project documentation as needed, which may include page layouts, program files, and AutoCAD drawings.
• Participate in Project Review at the end of each assignment.
• Develop Change Orders in conjunction with the Project Manager for product changes, enhancements, and additions, ensuring the proper approvals are obtained.
• Ensure as-built documentation and Change Orders are complete and accurate.
• Support R&D of new products that can improve DALY’s offerings.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Three (3) years of engineering experience in AV/Broadcasting design.
• Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, or BICSI.
• Strong project management and time management skills.
• Comfort working on ladders and lifts as required.
• Ability to read and write schematics and architectural drawings.
• Capacity to analyze and resolve issues at both functional and strategic levels.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturers including Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Z-Band, and Panasonic.

• Salary: USD 85,000 - 95,000 per year
