Job Description
Regal Commodities is seeking an Automation Engineer to join its engineering team on site in Clifton, New Jersey. The role centers on daily troubleshooting of automation devices and executing controls upgrades across large-scale systems, with current projects including rewriting the Coffee Transport system and commissioning retrofits within the coffee processing operations. This position offers a competitive salary range and requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field along with several years of industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily diagnostics and troubleshooting of automation hardware and software, including point level sensors, operator interfaces, networking, burner controllers, conveyors, and variable frequency drives
- Lead upgrades to control systems for Coffee Roasters
- Rewrite and optimize the Coffee Transport system
- Commission retrofits to additions within the Transport system
Requirements
- Experience designing and building electrical control panels
- Experience programming industrial control systems and operator interfaces
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team, and a genuine curiosity for the role
- Strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills
- Comfort working in a production environment, supporting system uptime, and performing troubleshooting; occasional late hours and weekend work may be required
- Willingness to learn the intricacies of the company’s coffee process before starting projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field
- 3-5 years of industry experience
