Autonomous Systems Software Engineer

Metron is seeking an experienced Autonomous Systems Software Engineer to design and implement algorithms, simulations, and visualization tools for autonomous robotics. The role involves leading dynamic project teams and applying innovative concepts to prototype systems in demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete software lifecycle from concept through design and demonstration, guiding cross-functional project teams and integrating ideas from multiple disciplines.
• Design and implement algorithms, simulations, and visualization tools for autonomous robotic systems.
• Lead project teams and synthesize innovations from diverse fields to advance prototype solutions.
• Translate ideas into robust control capabilities for robots operating in challenging environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of industry experience in advanced software development within a collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Java programming languages.
• Experience using one or more development tools.
• Experience writing algorithmic code, including complexity analysis, performance optimization, and multithreading.
• Ability to clearly communicate design concepts and performance metrics.
• US citizenship is required; candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
