Backend Software Engineer - AI Trainer

DataAnnotation is seeking a Backend Software Engineer - AI Trainer to help shape how AI systems learn by designing and evaluating coding problems used to train AI models and chatbots. In this contract role, you will produce clear code samples, thorough explanations, and actionable feedback that informs AI development. The position is remote with a flexible schedule and is based in Jersey City, NJ, with compensation ranging from $50 to $100 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Create and solve a range of programming challenges used for AI training.
• Produce clean, well-documented code examples and detailed explanations.
• Assess AI-generated code for correctness, performance, and readability.
• Provide actionable feedback that informs the next generation of AI models.

Requirements

• English fluency at native or bilingual level.
• Proficiency in at least one of these languages or frameworks: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, Kotlin, or Swift.
• Strong writing and grammar abilities.
• Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress).
• Prior experience as a Software Developer, Coder, Software Engineer, or Programmer is preferred.
