Building Engineer

Onsite opportunity in Pittsburgh: CBRE invites you to join as a Building Engineer, focusing on hands-on maintenance of small to medium sized buildings and related industrial systems. This role covers preventive maintenance, repairs, and energy management, all performed within established procedures and under guided supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
• Conduct regular maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and carry out repairs.
• Assist in setting up and modifying building machinery and structures.
• Review assigned work orders and coordinate with available systems to supervise completion.
• Support energy management by ensuring building systems operate efficiently.
• Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations, guiding the team through defined duties, methods, and tasks.
• Deliver outputs by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED or trade school diploma) with 1-2 years of related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting or carrying heavy loads (50 lbs or more).
• Capacity to follow fundamental work routines and standards in task execution.
• Effective communication skills to convey straightforward information.
• Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent attention to detail and a curious mindset.
