Civil and Structural Engineer

NAES Corporation is seeking a Civil and Structural Engineer to support large-scale power generation projects from an owner-side perspective. In this Dallas, TX onsite role, you will provide technical oversight across civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering activities, coordinating across EPC contractors, consultants, equipment vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams to align designs with cost, schedule, constructability, and regulatory requirements.

Role Overview

You will coordinate and review civil and structural scope that supports power generation facilities, including site development, foundations, structural steel, plant structures, and geotechnical inputs. The position includes participation in design reviews and issue resolution while supporting project planning, risk assessment, regulatory needs, construction activities, and technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review civil engineering activities such as site layouts, grading, earthwork, roads, drainage, stormwater management, underground utilities, and site access.
• Review structural designs for gas turbine and generator foundations, transformers, balance-of-plant equipment, structural steel, pipe racks, buildings, and other plant structures.
• Review civil and structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and design packages for technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
• Review geotechnical investigations and ensure soil, foundation, seismic, and other site-specific requirements are incorporated into project designs.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with equipment vendors, including equipment loads, anchor bolts, embedments, and foundation requirements.
• Provide technical oversight of EPC contractors and civil, structural, and geotechnical consultants throughout engineering and construction.
• Participate in design reviews, value engineering, constructability assessments, and resolution of civil, structural, and geotechnical issues.
• Support project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, regulatory requirements, construction activities, and technical reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of civil and structural engineering experience supporting power generation or large industrial infrastructure projects.
• Experience with site development, grading, drainage, equipment foundations, structural steel, and geotechnical requirements.
• Experience providing technical oversight of EPC contractors and engineering consultants through project development and execution.
• Strong knowledge of civil site development, equipment foundations, structural steel, drainage, earthwork, and geotechnical considerations.
• Working knowledge of applicable structural codes and standards, including ASCE 7, ACI 318, and AISC 360.
• Experience reviewing EPC civil and structural engineering packages, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Ability to coordinate civil and structural interfaces with mechanical, electrical, equipment vendor, and construction teams.
• Familiarity with structural and civil engineering tools such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD Civil 3D, or similar.
• Strong technical review, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 25%.

Preferred Experience

• Simple-cycle and/or combined-cycle gas turbine project experience.

Education and Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline required.
• PE license or EIT certification preferred.
