Civil Engineer

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is hiring a Civil Engineer for onsite work in Gaithersburg, MD. This role supports the design and delivery of residential, commercial, and municipal site projects, with a focus on practical engineering deliverables like site layout, grading, utilities, stormwater management, roadway design, and permitting. The position offers an annual salary range of USD 80,000 to 110,000.

What you’ll do

Support civil engineering design and development activities for a range of site types, including residential subdivisions and commercial development. Responsibilities include producing the documentation needed for projects to move from concept through local and state review.

• Prepare civil engineering plans, calculations, reports, and permit applications.
• Design and review site plans, including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway improvements.
• Assist on residential subdivision and commercial development projects across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, municipalities, and project managers.
• Conduct site visits and perform construction inspections as needed.
• Create plan sets and manage submissions for local and state agencies.
• Use AutoCAD/Civil 3D and related civil engineering software to support design and deliverables.

What you bring

To be considered, you should have a foundation in civil engineering and experience supporting site and development work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• EIT certification preferred.
• 2+ years of civil and/or site development experience preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
