Civil Engineer - EIT

George L. Wilson & Co., Inc. offers a stable, onsite opportunity in Pittsburgh, PA for a Junior Civil Engineer (EIT) to support bridge-related projects from design through bidding support. Responsibilities

• Design bridge deck overhang bracket systems for contractors’ projects
• Review structure drawings and specifications to collect design inputs such as beam type, overhang dimensions, and deck concrete thickness
• Identify and determine all loads applied to the overhang
• Complete material take-offs and estimates using project drawings and specifications to support accurate material quotes for contractor bids
• Coordinate with engineering and design staff to support project schedules and budgets
• Maintain client contact on technical and project matters

Requirements

• BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
• Pennsylvania EIT certification
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
• AutoCAD proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Schedule and Location

This position is in person at the work location in Pittsburgh, PA, staffed Monday–Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Reporting and Pay

The role reports to the General Manager. Pay is listed as From $75,000.00 per year.
