Civil Engineer (PE/EIT)

BHI (Foresight Land Surveying, a BHI Company) is hiring a full-time Civil Engineer (PE/EIT) to support planning and design efforts on moderate to complex projects. In this onsite role, you will collaborate with the Engineering Team while helping translate project requirements into engineering calculations, plans, and details.

The position is based in the Salt Lake City, UT area, with placement in either the North Salt Lake City area or the Logan office.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design moderate to complex projects in coordination with the Engineering Team to support project goals and objectives.
• Gather project details and communicate requirements with owners, sub-consultants, reviewing or permitting agencies, and construction teams.
• Complete engineering calculations and develop construction plans and details while following applicable design codes and governmental regulations.
• Create and maintain engineering models using engineering software.
• Help identify potential issues early and support timely resolution.
• Contribute across a variety of civil engineering project types, including work spanning civil, structural, transportation, hydraulics, and soils.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical).
• 1–2 years of hands-on engineering experience, with construction or civil infrastructure experience preferred.
• EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification or a Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering design software (examples include advanced CAD, BIM, FEM analysis, or spreadsheets).
• Strong analytical skills, excellent English communication abilities, and knowledge of engineering codes and safety standards.
• A degree in Engineering is required for selection for this position.

Compensation & Employment Details

• Salary: USD 90,000 - 120,000 per year
• Negotiability: Salary is highly negotiable and could exceed the listed range.
