Civil/Structural Engineer

Civil/structural or electrical engineer or designer to join the substation team serving investor-owned electric utility clients in Norcross, GA (hybrid); responsibilities include physical design for substations, substation documentation and QA/QC, and maintaining knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design physical layouts and configurations for electrical substations
• Prepare and review substation documents and drawings
• Perform QA and QC of substation physical designs
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of code requirements and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE)
• Develop and maintain proficiency with the applications and tools needed to complete client projects
• Stay informed on client, industry, and company news and developments
• Learn and stay aware of services offered by all company departments
• Align firm capabilities with client needs and identify opportunities to offer additional relevant services

Requirements

• 4 to 10 years of related experience, preferably in substation physical design
• Two-year technical degree or electrical or civil engineering degree
• Experience designing substations for investor-owned utilities is a plus
• Proficiency with AutoCAD required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; Office 365 and SharePoint preferred
• Excellent communication and strong organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Effective problem-solving abilities
