Controls Engineer
Job Description
Industrial Systems, Inc is seeking a seasoned Controls Engineer to design, program, and oversee electrical and control systems for material handling, process control, and municipal water and wastewater projects in Vancouver, Washington. This on-site role emphasizes PLC and SCADA programming, HMI development, and the potential to lead control system design initiatives within a collaborative engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA software
- Develop and modify PLC control logic
- Design and implement HMI and operator interface applications
- Configure communications networks, telemetry systems, and remote monitoring equipment
- Perform system testing, startup, and commissioning activities
- Coordinate with engineers, technicians, contractors, and client personnel
- Complete technical control system design projects
- Edit or prepare Control System Specifications
- Lead control system design initiatives
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on SCADA and PLC programming experience
- Proficiency with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix
- Experience using FactoryTalk View ME/SE
- Experience with AVEVA/Wonderware InTouch
- Experience with Ignition SCADA
- Familiar with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, OPC, DNP3, or similar industrial protocols
- Demonstrated ability in designing and delivering automated control systems
- Background in project management and systems engineering roles
- Prior consulting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of standard control protocols and programming environments
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
- Desirable familiarity with water and wastewater systems

Compensation
Salary: USD 7,500 – 8,500 per month
