Where you will work

This position is based at the Willis, Texas headquarters and requires onsite presence. Expect a balanced work week with approximately 50% in a professional office environment and 50% on the shop floor, in test bays, manufacturing areas, and at customer project sites. Occasional travel to field locations is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and lifecycle support for power generation control systems with a strong emphasis on the Mark VIe platform.
• Own end-to-end design, programming, and commissioning of PLC/HMI based control systems for gas turbine and reciprocating engine packages.
• Develop electrical architectures, logic diagrams, and functional descriptions from concept through testing.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical), P&IDs, and instrument loop diagrams; serve as the final approval authority for drawing releases.
• Collaborate across functions as the engineering liaison for manufacturing, defining component specifications and supporting procurement to ensure high-quality production.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 72, ISA, and applicable US/Canadian standards.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new and retrofitted products.
• Oversee onsite installation, startup, and troubleshooting, both remotely and locally.
• Support the field service department and LTSA programs with recommended spares, tooling, and technical manuals.
• Evaluate existing systems for modernization opportunities to improve reliability, safety, and performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce engineering cycle times and costs through standardization.
• Support AI-powered remote monitoring and data acquisition using Modbus, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, and OPC-UA.
• Partner with the technology team to integrate vibration monitoring, CEMS, and machine learning-based anomaly detection.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Controls, or related engineering field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• 6+ years of experience in power generation, specializing in Mark VI and Mark VIe control systems.
• Proficiency in Cimplicity SCADA, Mark VIe Virtual Controller, and Unity/Easy 5 modeling.
• Advanced programming experience in Allen Bradley Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, and FactoryTalk View/Ignition.
• Experience with Software Acceptance Testing (SWAT), screen configuration, and functional safety (SIL/SIS/ESD).
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 72, ISA S84, CSA, and applicable international standards.
• Functional safety experience including SIL requirements, SIS, and ESD design across disciplines.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% (Required).
• Willis, TX 77318 (Required) – ability to commute.
