Controls Engineer
Job Description
Dec-USA is seeking a Controls Engineer to shape new product designs and refine existing ones, with a focus on evaluating the efficiency and reliability of components and processes. This onsite role in Mauston, WI collaborates with engineering and shop teams to sustain timely production, with a salary range of USD 75,000 to 100,000 per year and a bachelor’s degree required.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to electrical and pneumatic schematic design, manufacturing, installation and operation of components for pharmaceutical and nuclear equipment, including heaters, blowers, valves, humidity sensors, oxygen sensors, and pressure transducers.
- Test and install products and document the process.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding engineering and production capabilities with technical information.
- Design and complete electrical schematics using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Work with EPLAN to complete electrical schematics.
- Oversee and coordinate the production of assigned projects to ensure compliance with procedures and delivery schedules.
- Troubleshoot issues to expedite fabrication.
- Prepare Bill of Materials in Excel or other programs to maintain databases and generate reports.
- Write Modes of Operations, Functional Specifications, Hardware Design Specifications and Software Design Specifications.
- Assist the Field Service Manager with warranty claims.
- Support the Field Service team with questions in the field.
- Suggest method improvements or alternate methods and materials to reduce cost and improve quality.
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain a safe, orderly work environment.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering degree required.
- 2 years of engineering experience preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- PLC and HMI programming skills.
- Familiar with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
- Knowledge of engineering and programming including electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer programming.
- Proficient with spreadsheets and AutoCAD.
- General knowledge of ANSI drawing standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
