Job Description

Own controls troubleshooting, commissioning support, and operational readiness for BMS and EPMS systems across AWS Data Centers.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot control systems for AWS Data Centers and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CA)
  • Apply controls fundamentals to manage scope of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) in operational data centers
  • Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders across BMS and EPMS lifecycle activities: creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning, and operation
  • Provide technical assistance and support to operations through the data center life cycle
  • Review quarterly maintenance results and action items for BMS and EPMS, then drive resolution
  • Develop BMS & EPMS project scope of work, schedule, budget, and Level of Effort (LOE) for customer and stakeholder requests
  • Manage scope, schedule, finance, and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects
  • Support procurement activities: requests for quotation/proposals, responding to RFIs, reviewing vendor proposals, and issuing purchase orders
  • Participate in AWS global on-call schedule to deliver immediate BMS and EPMS technical support for in-service data centers
  • Attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and provide regular status updates to Controls and stakeholder management
  • Support data center commissioning activities for Controls projects
  • Review, implement, troubleshoot, and iterate on the controls sequence of operation (SOO); provide feedback to the design team
  • Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces
  • Handle multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements, and complex situations
  • Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts
  • Frequently visit locally assigned, in-operation data centers to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work for compliance with scope, design, SOO, and applicable local codes

Requirements

  • Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
  • Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, and Windows Operating Systems
  • Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
  • 5+ years construction management experience on large, complex projects involving large-scale MEP plants
  • 4+ years general contractor and vendor management experience, including RFPs, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI/submittal tracking
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent engineering science) plus 5+ years relevant controls experience, OR 10+ years relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree
  • 5+ years experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, water, etc.)

Security Clearance

  • US citizenship required
  • Must currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • After start: obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and meet other security requirements

Location: Hilliard, OH (onsite)

Salary: USD 111,300 - 186,100 per year

Minimum Experience: 4 years

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent engineering science)
