Controls Engineer

MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions is seeking a Controls Engineer to deliver end-to-end controls engineering and commissioning support for Building Automation Systems (BAS) across new construction and retrofit projects. This onsite role in the Seattle area combines documentation review, sequence development, hardware and software engineering, and close collaboration with engineering and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Read, analyze, and interpret control-related plans, submittals, mechanical specifications, contract documents, and control drawings.
• Provide hardware engineering, software engineering, and network-level commissioning for BAS systems on new projects and existing system retrofit efforts.
• Interpret project financial information and apply value engineering concepts to evaluate cost impacts.
• Use existing standards and create new processes to support cost-effective controls engineering while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable state, local, and federal regulations.
• Communicate and present information to management, customers, and field operations teams.
• Develop and/or write sequences of operations and procedure manuals.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Windows, Word, and Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Automation & Controls (Mechanical or Electrical preferred), or an equivalent qualification from a two-year college or technical school.
• 3–5 years of experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, or similar design tools.
• Experience with installation and operation of commercial HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with commercial building construction, renovation, and/or retrofit projects.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $83,000–$108,000 annually
