Controls Engineer III

As a Controls Engineer III at CPC, you will help ensure the manufacturing facility operates reliably and safely while achieving quality targets. The role emphasizes optimizing production processes through automation and integration of technology and systems to improve information flow, product quality, capacity, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement HMI, MES, and SCADA solutions centered on the Ignition platform, leveraging SQL, Python, JavaScript, and related technologies.
• Install and integrate assembly equipment with statistical process control capabilities; develop and maintain SPC control charts and monitoring systems.
• Create, modify, and maintain software for machines, robotics, and systems.
• Troubleshoot process equipment hardware and program controllers such as PLCs and HMIs.
• Analyze automation equipment failures and propose durable solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Assess plant processes and recommend new technologies, equipment, or systems to streamline operations.
• Lead or coordinate Statements of Work (SOW) and User Requirements Specifications (URS) to ensure equipment meets intended application.
• Coordinate work from suppliers supporting maintenance, new equipment, integration, or related tasks.
• Ensure new automation equipment is implemented and functions according to design and applicable automation standards.
• Produce electrical schematics and other engineering support documents for new or existing equipment.
• Pursue continuous improvement in automation efforts.
• Conduct automation work in compliance with area safety procedures and policies.
• Fulfill additional duties as required to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation and robotics.
• Understanding of machine motion concepts and terminology.
• Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and engineering software programs.
• Strong computer skills with experience using CAD software and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project).

Technologies

Core platforms and tools include the Ignition platform, SQL, Python, JavaScript, CAD software, and the Microsoft Office suite, along with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Fanuc robotics, Universal Robots, Epson equipment, Asyril feeders, HMI, and SCADA systems.

Compensation

Annual salary range: $103,000 to $120,000.
