Custom Software Engineer

Join Experis to support an insurance organization with custom software development and configuration, including leading design and implementation work. This hybrid role is based in Hartford, CT or Hunt Valley, MD for 12 months with possible extension. The pay range is $55 to $60 per hour on W2.

What you’ll do

• Develop and configure software systems either end-to-end or for a specific stage of the product lifecycle.
• Apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes, and tools to support delivery.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with stakeholders and helping the team perform effectively.
• Take ownership of team decisions, engage with multiple teams, and contribute to key decisions.
• Provide solutions to problems that impact multiple teams.
• Lead the design and implementation of innovative software solutions aligned to client needs.
• Facilitate team meetings to encourage collaboration and maintain alignment on project goals.
• Mentor team members to strengthen skills and support continuous improvement.
• Analyze project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for the development team.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve system performance and user experience.

Requirements

• Insurance domain knowledge is required.
• Expert proficiency in Guidewire PolicyCenter is required (P4 - Expert).
• Expert proficiency in Guidewire Advanced Product Designer is recommended.
• Advanced proficiency in Design Innovation is suggested.
• Advanced proficiency in GuideWire Integration is suggested.
• Advanced proficiency in Java is suggested.
