Cyber Security Engineer 2 (Endpoint)

Join Garmin at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area to support and operate cybersecurity services that protect and strengthen security operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor to cybersecurity teams and Garmin business segments across multiple cybersecurity domains
• Partner with a team of security professionals to drive knowledge transfer, skills growth, and continuous learning
• Spot opportunities to improve tool integrations and workflows using automation and scripting with security tool APIs
• Support project and program planning by estimating assigned work, coordinating activities, and providing accurate, timely status updates
• Design and develop complex, integrated solutions to meet business needs and improve performance of Garmin security systems
• Contribute to the team roadmap and help set priorities
• Evaluate and support adoption of emerging security technologies to enhance threat detection, prevention, and response
• Participate in implementation, support, and operations for key security tools, including:
  • EDR platforms
  • Email security suites
  • DNS security solutions
  • PAM tools
  • Enterprise password management
  • Forensic tools
  • Threat intelligence platforms
• Develop, test, and deploy Python scripts to support automation initiatives while maintaining reliable operations
• Troubleshoot security tool issues and coordinate with partners to improve organizational security posture
• Stay current on scripting and automation frameworks to continuously improve team capabilities
• Drive innovation within Cybersecurity Engineering by identifying gaps and enhancing security operations through automation and integration

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business, or another relevant field AND 2+ years of relevant experience
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication to work effectively with team members and stakeholders
• Ability to contribute positively in a collaborative, team-focused environment
• Solutions-oriented mindset with a track record of resolving moderately complex problems
• Independent time management, prioritization, and follow-up task execution
• Consistent delivery of well-organized, high-quality documentation aligned with team expectations
• Understanding of core IT services including networking, storage, databases, and web-based services
• Experience managing security tools such as:
  • EDR
  • Email security suites
  • DNS security
  • PAM solutions
  • Enterprise password management
  • Forensic tools
  • Threat intelligence platforms
• Experience working with Linux-based operating systems
• Experience with Windows server and desktop environments
• Automation and scripting experience using APIs to integrate and enhance security tools
