Job Description

Data Engineer role in Pittsburgh, PA (onsite) at Wolfe, LLC, offering a salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers within a lakehouse architecture
  • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using AWS services (Glue, S3, Athena, etc.)
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across all stages of the data lifecycle
  • Implement and enforce data governance standards, including cataloging, lineage, and access controls
  • Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data products
  • Support and enable AI/ML and Agentic AI workflows by providing clean, well-structured, and accessible datasets
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and failures
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement of the data platform

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services (Glue, S3, Athena, IAM, Lake Formation preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data transformation and pipeline development
  • Understanding of data governance concepts including cataloging, lineage, and access control
  • Familiarity or interest in AI/ML workflows, with exposure to Agentic AI concepts considered a strong plus
