Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton seeks a Data Engineer to join the team onsite in Wharton, New Jersey. The role focuses on building robust data pipelines and scalable platforms, deploying ETL and ELT workflows, and guiding cross-functional teams on mission-driven initiatives that turn diverse data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate pipelines and platforms that organize disparate data and render it meaningful for decision makers.
  • Contribute to advanced technology solutions and execute data engineering activities on mission-focused projects.
  • Collaborate with and mentor a multidisciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in an agile environment.
  • Apply analytical exploration and data examination skills while overseeing the design, building, and maintenance of scalable client platforms.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in database management activities including data validation, maintenance, and optimization.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining scripts and code for data processing and automation.
  • 3+ years designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data applications at enterprise scale.
  • 3+ years creating software or managing digital platforms for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data.
  • 3+ years building scalable ETL and ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
  • Experience working within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to develop scripts and programs to convert various data types into usable formats and support scaling, monitoring, and operation of data platforms.
  • Secret clearance.

A Data Engineer at Booz Allen helps organize data from diverse sources to uncover insights that inform critical missions, from fraud detection to cancer research and national intelligence.

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Secret clearance is required.

Identity Verification

Work Model

Work arrangements vary by role and assignment. This position is onsite in a Booz Allen facility or at a customer site, with the possibility of hybrid or remote elements depending on project needs. In all cases, occasional in-person collaboration may be required.

Compensation

The projected annual salary range is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00. Compensation is determined by a variety of factors including location, education, skills, experience, and contract requirements, and represents a typical range for this role.

Nice If You Have

  • Background in manufacturing or supply chain data analysis
  • Agile engineering practices
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
