Data Engineer

Role focusing on designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and platforms to organize disparate data for mission-driven projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data engineering solutions on mission-driven initiatives.
• Design, deploy, and evolve pipelines and platforms that normalize and make disparate data meaningful.
• Collaborate with and guide a cross-functional team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile setting.
• Leverage analytical exploration to oversee the assessment, design, construction, and maintenance of scalable data platforms for clients.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining complex data applications at enterprise scale
• 3+ years of experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
• 3+ years of experience building scalable ETL or ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
• Experience delivering solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team
• Experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake, Spark, notebooks, and workflows or jobs
• Experience with GitLab for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and code review workflows
• Ability to develop scripts and programs to convert various data types into usable formats and help the project team scale, monitor, and operate data platforms
• Secret clearance

Clearance

Compensation

Compensation at Booz Allen is determined by location, the candidate’s education, knowledge, skills, and experience, and contract-specific considerations. The projected salary range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 per year (USD). This estimate reflects the typical range for the role and is one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package.

Work model
