Job Description

A Data Engineer role based in Farmington Hills, MI onsite, focused on turning raw data into reliable, accessible information to support reporting, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support applications, reporting, and analytics
  • Build and maintain data pipelines that move and transform data from diverse sources into relational databases
  • Model and maintain performant, well-documented relational schemas that are easy to extend
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect to enhance the overall data architecture
  • Provide clean, reliable datasets for development, AI/ML, and product teams
  • Develop and maintain operational and customer-facing reporting
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune database performance and data quality
  • Contribute to data governance, documentation, and best practices across the team

Requirements

  • 2+ years in data engineering, SQL development, or a database-focused role, or a strong equivalent
  • Strong SQL skills including query writing, optimization, stored procedures, and schema design (SQL Server or Azure SQL preferred)
  • Experience designing and maintaining relational databases
  • Experience building ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Familiarity with the Azure data ecosystem (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory) or a comparable cloud platform
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and data quality practices
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to collaborate across multiple teams

About the Role

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Farmington Hills, MI. The salary range is $75,000 to $100,000 per year. You will join the data team and work with the Data Architect to scale data capabilities for reporting, internal analytics, and the applications our engineering teams build.
