Job Description
Horizontal Talent is hiring a Senior Data & Distribution Platform Engineer in Boston, MA (onsite). In this senior role, you will support enterprise data and distribution applications in a global asset-management environment, combining production support with technical leadership. The focus is on reliability through monitoring, diagnostics, and continuous improvement across workflows and integrations.
What you’ll do
- Provide technical direction and help prioritize work across the data and distribution support domain.
- Own incident investigations and support end-to-end operational activities including service requests, problem management, operational changes, and release readiness.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis within the agreed Level 2 support scope.
- Support and monitor enterprise data workflows and platforms, including Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Fivetran, and Collibra.
- Support distribution and marketing applications, including AEM, Adobe Campaign, Salesforce C360, and Workfront.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to APIs, data movement, integrations, and upstream or downstream dependencies.
- Apply approved operational fixes and implement preventive improvements within Level 2 boundaries.
- Contribute to monitoring, runbooks, diagnostics, and support automation efforts.
- Improve documentation, support knowledge sharing, and help prevent recurring issues.
- Collaborate with technical, product, business, and vendor teams to drive timely resolution and clear communication.
What you bring
- 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise data platforms, SaaS applications, or production environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, advanced SQL, and Python.
- Experience with dbt Cloud, Fivetran, or comparable data pipeline tools.
- Proven ability to monitor and troubleshoot production data workflows.
- Capability to guide technical work, mentor others, or coordinate delivery efforts.
- Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations, data movement, and production support practices.
- Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management processes.

Preferred experience
- Client-facing, consulting, or managed services background.

- Knowledge of Azure APIM or other enterprise integration layers.
- Experience with observability or service management tools.
- Background building operational monitoring, diagnostic tools, or support automation.
