Job Description
As a member of Blue Origin’s Operations Supply Chain Data Modeling team, you will develop foundational Databricks data models that act as the single source of truth for Supply Chain.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core supply chain data models in Databricks, built on top of ET-provided data, to support widely used Supply Chain data assets
- Implement supply chain-specific business logic, transformations, and data quality rules to deliver trusted, accurate, reusable models for downstream use
- Build and maintain data products and semantic layers so supply chain analysts and business users can self-serve metrics and insights
- Contribute to AWS-hosted internal web applications that present supply chain data models through dashboards, KPIs, and operational tools
- Collaborate with ET data platform teams and supply chain stakeholders to define data contracts, onboard new data needs, participate in code reviews, and support team data modeling standards
- Develop with GitLab for version control and CI/CD, use VS Code as the primary development environment, and leverage AI-assisted tooling to improve pipeline and modeling velocity
- Monitor pipeline and model health to ensure availability, performance, and discoverability of supply chain data models
Requirements
- 3+ years building and operating production data pipelines and data models
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms for dimensional/data modeling and transformation
- Experience integrating with upstream source systems (e.g., ERP, transactional databases) and managing schema and data contract changes
- Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, RDS, ECS)
- Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling, medallion architecture, and slowly changing dimensions
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) due to access to export-controlled data
