Job Description

Meta is seeking a Data Engineer specializing in Product Analytics to build scalable data artifacts, models, and visualizations that inform product analytics across Meta applications. Working onsite in Burlingame, CA, this role collaborates with software engineering, data science, and product management teams to optimize growth strategies and enhance the user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute data warehouse initiatives for a product or group of products to address clearly defined problems.
  • Determine the data needed for a business question and implement the required logging to ensure data availability, collaborating with data infrastructure to triage and resolve issues.
  • Work with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to translate data needs into meaningful insights and clear presentations.
  • Develop data expertise and apply data controls to ensure privacy, security, compliance, data quality, and operational integrity for assigned domains.
  • Design, build, and deploy new data models and production visualizations using common development toolkits.
  • Independently design, build, and launch new ETL processes in production, mentoring others on writing efficient queries.
  • Support existing production processes and implement optimized solutions with limited guidance.
  • Define and manage Service Level Agreements for data sets within assigned areas.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a role where data is the primary focus (data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala).
