Data Engineer, Product Analytics

The Data Engineer, Product Analytics role at Meta focuses on designing and building scalable data solutions and data models that support product growth, strategy, and user experience. Responsibilities

• Manage and execute data warehouse plans for a product or a group of products to address well-scoped problems.
• Determine the data required for business problem solving and implement the logging needed to ensure data availability, working with data infrastructure to triage issues and drive resolution.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs and communicate key data insights in a meaningful way.
• Develop data expertise and apply data controls to uphold privacy, security, compliance, data quality, and operational standards within areas of ownership.
• Design, build, and launch new data models and visualizations in production using common development toolkits.
• Independently design, build, and launch new data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes in production, including mentoring others on efficient queries.
• Support existing production processes and implement optimized solutions with limited guidance.
• Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for data sets within allocated areas of ownership.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience where the primary responsibility involves working with data, such as data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala, or others).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and produce measurable impact, such as efficiency gains or quality improvements.
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews.
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt or context engineering and agent orchestration, and staying current with emerging AI technologies.

• Salary: USD 114,000 - 173,000 per year
