Digital Design Engineer
Job Description
The Digital Design Engineer will define, design, verify, and document digital electronics for target hardware, including FPGA development and circuit design. This role also supports interdisciplinary efforts through technical leadership and mentorship.

Compensation
- USD 141,739 - 157,242 per yearly
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field) plus minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- OR Master’s degree plus minimum 3 years of relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Design digital electronics, including Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) development and circuit design
- Own the end-to-end activities for digital electronics: definition, design, verification, and documentation
- Determine architecture, system simulation approach, and detailed design methodology
- Define module interfaces and related device design and simulation details
- Evaluate the design process flow, including high level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization
- Create test and simulation plans that establish functional criteria
- Verify test outcomes and analyze performance results
- Conduct verification and validation on target hardware
- Provide leadership on inter-disciplinary design efforts
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Preferred Skills and Experience

- Experience with application programming on embedded processors
- Ability to translate system requirements into designs independently
- Ability to reverse engineer existing designs and update functionality for new requirements
- Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for complex electronic systems
- Use of AI for innovation, technical verification, and process improvement
Work Schedule and Workplace Options
- Fully on-site at the Manassas, Virginia facility
- Flexible schedules with an every-other-Friday option, if desired (9/80 schedule)
