Job Description
Electrical Controls Engineer role in Chattanooga, TN focused on end-to-end electrical controls work for automated resistance welding machinery.
Responsibilities
- Review customer and internal design requirements to develop electrical drawings from scratch
- Specify components and design auxiliary systems (hydraulic/pneumatic) as part of the overall machine electrical package
- Create assemblies supporting new and existing resistance welding equipment
- Produce shop-ready electrical schematics using 2D CAD software (Autocad Electrical)
- Design, implement, and document electrical control systems for automated resistance welding machinery
- Support the shop floor with wiring and building activities related to your designs
- Occasionally perform machine startup at customers’ facilities
- Provide technical phone support as needed
Requirements
- Degree, technical certificate, or military background in the Electrical/Electronic field
- 5 years of on-the-job experience/training
- Strong industrial machinery controls design capability, including:
- HMI
- PLC experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens
- Servo programming
- Experience selecting sensors and electrical components
- Understanding of pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, regulators, and flow controls
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills for troubleshooting and producing clear documentation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
- Critical thinking and complex problem-solving ability
- U.S. citizen requirement

Compensation: USD 70,000 - 120,000 per yearly
