Role
The Electrical Engineer designs and documents electrical components and systems for hot mix asphalt plants. The position develops custom engineered plant designs to meet customer specifications using Draftsight, and leads project management while coordinating with production and quality control.
Responsibilities
- Participate as a member of an integrated engineering design team, designing and integrating manual and automatic controls for asphalt plant operation
- Create schematic designs for digital and analog asphalt plant controls
- Produce production BOMs
- Develop 2D layout and wiring diagrams of control hardware in Draftsight
- Select and test components such as temperature/limit controllers, HMI panels, and PLC controllers
- Adhere to quality assurance and safety protocols
- Provide technical direction to designers and drafters
- Coordinate technical project management for assigned projects
- Meet engineering milestones within project schedules
- Collaborate effectively with sales, production control, manufacturing, quality control, and customer service teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in electrical design
- 1+ years of experience in industrial automation design
- Experience with PLC programming
- Experience with Rockwell Automation products and software tools is a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to travel as needed to perform the functions of the position
- Permanent resident of the US
