Electronics Engineer 2/3 - Comms/Networks

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Electronics Engineer at the DOD SkillBridge level 2 or Principal Electronics Engineer level 3 to support communications and networks. This hybrid role, based in San Diego, CA, offers a salary range of USD 91,800 to 171,000 per year and focuses on the research, design, development, integration, testing and maintenance of electronic equipment and communications networks, including RF datalinks and SATCOM, with IPT reporting and subsystem integration support.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, development, integration, and testing and maintenance of a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including RF datalinks, SATCOM and Communications Networks.
• Report communications status to IPT Management.
• Support the team on complex communications subsystems and integration tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of related engineering experience; OR 1 year with a PhD.
• Active in-scope DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance once in position.
• Strong understanding of networking strategies including TCP/IP and WAN architectures.
• Familiar with current network products and technologies such as routers, firewalls and switches.
• RF and digital system design and analysis; antenna theory and operation.
• COMMS wideband and narrowband integration and testing; Iridium, INMARSAT, Ku, CDL and Starlink are a plus.
• Airborne platform radio integration such as ARCs; system performance verification and component qualifications for flight.
• System engineering, requirements derivation; design documentation including Visio, Catia, interconnects and rack elevations.
