Electronics Hardware Specialist
Job Description
This Electronics Hardware Specialist role supports the development and advancement of electronic systems used in circuit protection products.
- Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits for embedded hardware products
- Execute engineering analysis, hardware testing, troubleshooting, and design verification
- Drive product lifecycle support from concept and requirements development through validation and production launch
- Meet technical requirements for performance, reliability, quality, and EMI/EMC
- Translate needs into requirements by partnering with marketing and cross-functional stakeholders
- Apply regulatory standards using working knowledge of industry and compliance requirements including UL, CSA, IEC, and NEMA
- Coordinate engineering activity across multiple projects with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, consultants, and manufacturing partners
- Support contract manufacturing including assistance with production test development and execution
- Investigate quality issues (manufacturing, field, and product quality) using structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Provide technical support for customer applications and product-performance concerns
- Participate in bring-up and validation including hardware bring-up, debugging, signal characterization, and product validation
- Improve engineering workflows by identifying opportunities to enhance tools, development processes, design methodologies, and product performance
- Research and resolve complex issues through technical investigations at hardware and system level
- Mentor when appropriate by offering technical guidance to engineering team members based on experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of new product development experience
- At least 2 years experience architecting, designing, or developing embedded electronic products
- Hands-on experience with analog and digital circuit design, testing, or troubleshooting
- Knowledge and practical experience with EMI/EMC design principles
- Experience with Altium Designer or comparable schematic capture and PCB layout software
- Must be authorized to work without current or future employer-sponsored immigration support

Additional position details

Compensation
- $115,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, signal characterization, and manufacturing support
- Experience diagnosing and resolving electronic hardware or system-level problems
- Familiarity with regulatory and industry standards such as UL, CSA, IEC, or NEMA
- Background in industrial electronics, electrical protection systems, metering, controls, embedded systems, or power electronics
